South Valley Regional Dialysis Center (SVRDC) was created in 1994 to cater to the needs of people requiring dialysis who reside or work in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, or its surrounding communities.

SVRDC’s commitment to excellence positively impacts access to health care, quality of lifestyle and maintenance of livelihood, while emphasizing positive rehabilitation.

At SVRDC, tremendous care goes into selecting talented, experienced and dedicated health care professionals. SVRDC provides the latest technology with an unsurpassed level of comfort for the individual and professional alike.

SVRDC is conveniently located close to the Ventura Freeway (101) in the San Fernando Valley, with ample free reserved and handicapped parking in our underground garage. Two elevators quickly bring you to the entrance of SVRDC’s first floor location.

Once inside, you will meet our warm staff, while your family and friends enjoy a comfortable waiting room equipped with cable television. SVRDC’s central location on Ventura Blvd. in the heart of Encino gives you easy access to a wide range of restaurants, shopping and entertainment, if family or friends need time for personal and business needs.

For those new to dialysis, apprehension and fear of the unknown can be very stressful. Although dialysis is common to all those requiring our professional services, each person brings individual needs and requirements. The staff at SVRDC has been fully selected and trained to provide personalized communication and care for individuals.

Our professional medical staff includes a renal dietitian and social worker. These trained experts are experienced in the special needs of those with kidney disease. If you prefer peritoneal dialysis as a method of replacement for kidney function, a comprehensive program that includes instruction, monitoring systems, advanced technologies and nursing support is available. Our service and level of care is designed to exceed your expectations and prior experience. Yet, SVRDC accepts most insurance plans and is accessible to almost all individuals. There is no penalty for this higher standard of care, only the comfort of knowing that SVRDC is much more than a dialysis facility.

SVRDC has made safety a top priority and integral component of each step experienced before, during and after the dialysis procedure. There are no short cuts.

SVRDC utilizes state-of-the-art Drake-Willock 1000 hemodialysis machines. These award-winning machines are recognized as being in the forefront of hemodialysis technology and safety.

The computerized dialysis equipment allows the treatment to be individually formulated for each person’s dialysis prescription. The doctor’s instructions can be quickly encoded to accomplish the removal of excess fluid (ultra filtration) without lowering blood pressure (hypotension). This minimizes cramping and fatigue that can often accompany hypotension.

Each machine has an automated blood pressure cuff to help maintain and monitor vital signs. Any deviation is immediately signaled to the nurse’s attention. Each machine is heat sterilized daily, minimizing the exposure to chemical agents, further increasing individual and staff safety.

While safety is our foremost concern, individual comfort ensures your long-term satisfaction. At SVRDC, we pay the same attention to your comfort, as we do to the safety and quality of the dialysis equipment. Our dialysis care environment is monitored for optimum temperature, humidity and air quality. A spacious room guarantees adequate space between stations. Windows are positioned for soft northern light, creating a naturally calm environment. Each station has a reclining chair that can quickly and easily adjusts for maximum comfort and safety. Telephones are always available to individuals for personal or business calls. Individual televisions at each station are adjustable for minimal eye and neck strain. Audio and digital recorded video along with live radio and television are also available. For individuals preferring to read or sleep, each station has individual light controls.

Your environment can be adjusted to your needs and specifications. The central nurse’s station has full visual access to everyone. A nurse call button at each dialysis station has audible and visual alarms, and rings at the central nursing center, further improving safety.

The time spent receiving each dialysis treatment can be as productive or relaxing as you wish!

The care environment and technical support systems at SVRDC were designed by experienced architectural and water systems experts with input from physicians, nurses and technicians who are involved with dialysis on a daily basis. Our customized attention to detail satisfies the needs of individuals, family members, the professional team and physicians involved in dialysis, providing for exceptional and individualized care.

Attending physicians through our advanced medical software system can access all technical and medical information pertinent to an individual’s care. The system even allows the physician to access an individual’s chart directly from his or her office. This information is continually analyzed to maintain our high standards of care.

Perhaps the most exciting facet of SVRDC is the access physicians and patients have to new medications and technologies. As an accredited research center, SVRDC collaborates with innovative pharmaceutical companies, the dialysis industry and medical schools to offer individuals and their physicians options in care that are simply not available in most dialysis facilities.
